The initial bulk of the position will revolve around customer technical support and sales for the Bookmanager point-of-sale and inventory management software system and e-commerce website for bookstores, industry reps and publishers/distributors.

Working with over 300 independent bookstores and hundreds of active publishers in Canada and the US, your day-to-day encompasses not just the Bookmanager software and website, but all aspects of the bookselling industry. If you have an interest in physical books and the publishing industry in general, or like working hands-on with computers and small business owners, a career with Bookmanager will be engaging and challenging.

As the Bookmanager software and associated tools become more familiar, more responsibilities and facets are encouraged. All Bookmanager support staff have multiple positions at the company, from data analysts to graphic designers. The software support is simply the framework for which everything else is built around.

Fun fact: Kelowna's iconic independent bookstore Mosaic Books is owned and operated by Bookmanager, utilizing and testing all of Bookmanager's services. The software and web tools Bookmanager designs is tested in real-world conditions and rooted in small business practices.

Recommended Knowledge & Experience:
  • Experience in customer service, preferably in an office environment, where you gathered information and data over the telephone and through email
  • Experience in a retail business environment
  • Proficient in Windows computer systems and related programs
  • Completion of Grade 12
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to use correct English grammar in conversation and in writing
Compensation & Hours:
  • Competitive wage, plus health benefits and paid lunch
  • Monday through Friday, 8am - 4pm; 40 hours per week
